Welcome!


Welcome to SPE 510, ECSE Speech and Language Development
In this course you will learn about the speech and language development of children ages birth to 3rd grade. You will also learn about the difficulties they may encounter and ways you can design your instruction to meet the needs of this children.

Course Overview:
This course is being delivered in an online format. There are six modules to be completed. Each week, usually on Friday, a new module will be opened. All work must be submitted by Sunday of the following week giving you approximately 10 days to complete the work.
To complete this course, you will need to read the material provided as well as in the course textbook, work through a variety of activities, and discuss concepts and content with your classmates.

Essential Questions:
·      How do children learn to talk?
·      What problems can children have in learning to talk?
·      What can be done to help children with difficulty learning to talk?
